Take It Slow (BOTGD flashback)

July 1048

It had been two months since Ragnarok ended and since the Grounded Dungeon Rebellion was released from their bunker once Hel informed them that she had won the war. The rebels moved on from their spot in the Everglade and set out to start lives anew or to resume their lives from before the Rebellion. Once she and King Haddock formed plans for her to continue her position, Lady Grey Bergman took her Night Fury, Shadow and led her best friends, Greg, Warren, their young daughter Lila, Asha, and her young daughter 3-year-old Siri back home to Haligan Island.

Upon returning, Grey reunited with her parents, Sven and Ingrid and her uncle Einar along with the rest of the village. She introduced them all to her unofficial adoptive siblings, Greg, Warren, and Asha and her nieces Siri and Lila. The Boomerang Squad settled into life on Haligan Island after that. Greg and Warren settled into their own house with Lila. That of course left Asha and Siri. Once Grey explained her situation to her parents, Sven and Ingrid welcomed Asha and Siri to live with them with open arms.

Ever since then, Asha and Siri had been living in the Bergman household and had been sharing Grey’s room with her and Shadow.

One morning in July 1048, Grey found herself waking up early that morning and getting ready for the day before walking out of the makeshift changing space in her room. She loved having Asha and Siri as roommates. Shadow immediately jumped up to greet her rider and sister.

“Hey, girl,” Grey said as she scratched her dragon’s head.

Right in the gate, this is probably unexpected from me. But i have an AU brewing in my head where practically everything is the same except Asha DID become Magnificos' apprentice, learning some magic from him, meanwhile watching magnificos descent into power fueled madness before taking action against him in similar fashion to the film. Star is still there. She just knows more about magic in this one. For fun.

I thought a good way to show this idea was to give her a similar color pallete to the king and queen. Anyways. Enjoy :,]

What happened when you wish on a star?

In the kingdom of Roses, everyone knows wishes do come true, thanks to their beloved King Magnifico, granting all their wishes overnight while they sleep. Everyone trusts in that, except Asha, an artistic and quick-witted young girl, for she knows in her heart that her deceased grandfather never got his wish granted. On her 18th birthday, when it was time to give her wish, Asha discovers a terrible secret, the king and queen are not what they seemed. With no one else to turn to, she makes a wish upon a star... And the star answered.

Now let's talk about the cover itself.

At the bottom we have Asha on top of a tree, with Valentino. She's catching up to Aster, right above her. These 3 elements the tree, Asha and Valentino are illuminated by the light that comes from Aster, a yellow light and are shaded by purplish blue shadows precisely because yellow and blue/purple are complementary colors divided on the color wheel and this is a characteristic of my art I like to make colored shadows and not black ones.

Aster has a thick outline and no shadows because he is in 2d, while the rest of the universe is in 3d.

This pose was inspired by one of the promotional posters for the Wish film.

I followed the same colors as the sky and wanted to place the wish balls and star sparkles making a circle around Asha.

I tried to leave Asha and Aster more to the left because the protagonists, in film posters, should always be more to the left.

Magnificent and Amaya are appearing in the sky, in the background, precisely to represent this subtle threat, but always existing throughout Anny's story. Magnificent and Amaya may not always be present in the same place as Aster, Asha and Valentino, but they are always watching, aiming and wishing for the star.

Unlike the film, Anny makes it clear that these two are the villains of the story and to rescue this I wanted to bring triangular shapes to their faces precisely because a triangle represents a warning of danger, sharp pointy things that can kill you and do you a lot of harm — this is even the case. a form often used in classic Disney villains. I also rescued the use of the color green for the villains, well seen in all Disney films; That's why both the light that illuminates them and the shadows are green, one lighter and the other darker.

Making this cover was a lot of fun, it was a great experience that taught me a lot of things!

I haven't talked about this in a minute but I still want to write a fic where the posties learn they all are speaking different languages and just have a passive translation ability to their powers

They can pinch the universe in just the right way to get around it. They learn each others languages and stubborn pronunciation imperfections get mapped into what they hear

“Sorry about that,” Grey said shrugging as she gently scratched Shadow's head earning a croon from her dragon. "Shadow really likes making friends."

As soon as Grey said that, Shadow narrowed her eyes and looked at Grey clearly not appreciating the comment.

"What?" Grey asked incredulously. "It's true."

Brandt laughed watching the interaction between the Chief and her Night Fury. It was amazing to see such a strong bond between them. Grey was talking to her as if Shadow was another person. It was easy to see that Grey has had Shadow for a long time. "It's no problem," he said. "I appreciate the compliment."

Shadow crooned happily at Brandt before turning back to Grey snorting at her as if to say "See?!"

"Don't encourage her," Grey said jokingly.

Finally watched Disney's WISH today and loved it!🥰

I've heard negative reviews about this movie and although I agree it's not the best Disney movie, in my opinion it's not as bad as people say.

Sure the script, characters and the artstyle may be underdeveloped but there are also a lot of good moments ^^

For example I loved the songs and visuals, and expressions and movements of king Magnifico is just 🤌🤌

I saw people comparing him to Disney classic villains and saying he's lame compared to them but I think we need to understand that classic villians like Jafar, Ursula, Scar etc. are icons and to achieve bad guys as good as them can be quite challenging 😅

Sure, Magnifico is not the BEST villain in history but overall he's pretty decent and fun to watch^^

going off like. lloyd claiming he's suave. it's funny bc afaik he's only had two boyfriends. I know he acts like his relationship with Matt wasn't much of anything but lloyd loves to lie

he is charming. his friends love him. but it's not because he's Smooth. Asha and jill didn't suffer watching him and raven dance around each other just for him to lie
